For this project I was briefed to illustrate a short children's story book and conceptualise the written story into a visual narrative for children aged between 1 and 5. I really enjoyed this project, helping Lucy find her sister Thabi! Approaching the style of illustration with a fun child-like drawing illustration style and water colour brush work.
One of the biggest challenges of this project was getting a illustration style that really worked for me, as we often compare our work with others work, it was hard for me to really trust the process and appreciate my own illustration style to be different. At the end of this project looking at the final result, I really loved what I came up with and trust that it tells the story in a cute and creative way that children will love and have fun with.
